A conglomeration of musicians that played various venues in Southern California as well as various western states, Japan and Europe. The band was performing regularly by 1980. Original members of TAXI were Wild Bill Cheney (Keyboard/Vocals), Dwane McDanniel (Lead Vocals), Kevin O'Connell (Drums/Vocals), Emil Locore (Bass/Vocals) and Clancy Grower (Guitar/Vocals). Sound Engineer was John Corbett, Lighting Engineer was Rob Patterson. Through the years various supporting crew included Joey Licatta, Steve (The Droz) Droziak, Wayne Townsend (Wayner/Duuuude), and Bob Hughes.
The band performed mostly classic rock tunes with a heavy infusion of showmanship, humor and wild stage antics. The showmanship combined with strong vocals and musicianship made the band a staple in the Orange County club circuit during the 80s and much of the 90s. The band performed throughout California, several of the Western States as well as several tours of Japan.
